January 2022

Welcome back!  I pray that everyone had an enjoyable and restful Christmas.

Please remember to fill out and return the reading calendars for reading homework each month. I will be accepting December calendars until the end of next week, January 14.

On Monday, January 17, there will be no school, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

In Bible, we will continue learning about Moses and the Israelites as they journeyed to the Promised Land.

Our next Bible memory work will be the rest of the Ten Commandments, 5-7. This will be sent home Tuesday, January 11 in the white envelope.

5. Honor your father and your mother.

6. You shall not murder.

7. You shall not commit adultery.

8. You shall not steal.

9. You shall not give false testimony.

10. You shall not covet.

This will be due on Friday, January 21.

We are celebrating three birthday in our class this month!

JJ has a birthday on January 3.

Brielle has a birthday on January 18.

Ava has a birthday on January 30.

      Happy birthday, friends!

We will also be celebrating some half-birthdays in January.

                   Rileigh has a half-birthday on January 8.

      Sawyer has a half-birthday on January 8.

      Logen has a half-birthday on January 28.

                               Happy half-birthday, friends!

Please send your child to school dressed appropriately for the winter weather.  This includes a coat that can zipper/button up the front, a hat or hood, and gloves or mittens.  We do sometimes go outside when it is cold.’

Also, please send a full change of weather-appropriate clothes in your child’s backpack each day. Sometimes there will be mud or puddles on the playground or field and we might come in from recess quite dirty or wet.

Please be sure that you are connected to our Class Dojo and that you have set up your child’s account. Check Dojo for messages and information about upcoming events. If we have many snow days, Mr. Fry may ask us to do some ‘virtual learning’ days so that we do not have as many days to make up. In that case, I will be using Dojo for a good bit of our learning and activities.

Important Dates to Remember:

Monday, January 17 - No School

Friday, January 21 - Commandments 5-10 due

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me by note or email (jmcclure@bethanychristian.org), or you can send me a message on our Class Dojo.  Enjoy the winter weather, and stay warm!

In Him,

Jackie McClure
